Admissions
We are funded through Westminster City Council’s Children’s Services from local and national grants and from a direct grant from the Department of Education. All places are allocated to children according to Westminster’s admissions criteria.
Parents should fill in an application form and are welcome to make an appointment to look around the Centre and to speak to members of the staff team.
Our criteria for offering places are:
Children in public care
Children with exceptional medical or social need
Children who have a brother or sister at the centre
Children who live nearest to the Centre
Dorothy Gardner is a nursery school for 3 & 4 year olds. It also provides 25 places for eligible 2 year olds and up to 40 part time places for children referred by health visitors and other early help practitioners and is the lead for Queens Park Children’s Centre.
Children are generally admitted to the nursery in September, however if places become available through the course of the year new children will be admitted to these throughout the school year. The nursery currently offers 40 part time places for 3-5 year olds and 25 15 hour places for 2 year olds. New children are usually offered a part time place, either in the morning or afternoon.
